Civilian Conservation Corps Camden Co. 452 (FIC)

Company 452 was formed in June of of 1933 and originally located west of the Seaboard rail line near Colesburg, Ga. Company 452 was partnered with the Georgia Forestry Service and harvesting timberland was their primary responsibility. Due to the threat of Malaria, the unit moved to nearby Satilla Bluff in 1934. In 1938 the unit was combined with a company located on Blythe Island in Glynn County. Non-work actives included team sports, educational classes, dances, and religious services.
